About The Event
In early 2018, the Grand Teton Music Festival announced the inaugural scholarship competition in honor of Music Director Donald Runnicles. The annual competition is open to graduating high school seniors from Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana who will pursue their primary studies in music at an accredited four-year college or conservatory.
This event showcases the eight semi-finalists, who will compete for $40,000 in scholarship prize money. The semi-final round begins at 9AM and is open to the public, no ticket required. The eight semi-finalists include two pianists, a guitarist, violinist, vocalist, euphonium player, oboist, and cellist. At 6PM three finalists will compete for the $20,000 first prize. $12,500 second prize, and $7,500 for third prize. Each finalist will perform a twenty-minute program on stage at Walk Festival Hall for the live audience.
