JACKSON HOLE, WYOMING July 9, 2014 The Grand Teton Music Festival Board of Directors is thrilled to announce that Maestro Donald Runnicles has renewed his contract with the Grand Teton Music Festival through the summer of 2019.
Music Director of the Grand Teton Music Festival (GTMF) since 2006, Maestro Runnicles selects the repertoire, conducts for four weeks, and participates as a pianist in a number of chamber music concerts. The Festival will continue to thrive with Runnicles artistic leadership and is excited about the future under his baton.

Musicians from the Festival Orchestra are also delighted with the news. Contrabassoonist Juan de Gomar said he is Thrilled that Maestro Runnicles has re-committed to the Grand Teton Music Festival. They are blessed by Runnicles artistic leadership and honored to have him here.
In addition to his post in Jackson Hole, Maestro Runnicles holds concurrent appointments as the General Music Director of the Deutsche Oper Berlin; Chief Conductor of BBC ScottishSymphony Orchestra; and Principal Guest Conductor of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
Maestro Runnicles career is characterized by high quality performances strongly centered in grand romantic opera and symphonic repertoire of the late 19th and 20th centuries. In June of 2015, he will return to the San Francisco Opera (where he was Music Director for seventeen years) before returning to Jackson for the 54th Season of the Grand Teton Music Festival.
