Jenkins premiered her new show\, ICON: The Voices That Changed Music\, with the Princeton Symphony\, with subsequent performances with the Houston Symphony\, Baltimore Symphony\, Reno Philharmonic\, North Carolina Symphony\, Anchorage Symphony and several others. She premiered her solo show\, She’s Got Soul\, with the Houston Symphony in October 2022\, followed by performances with the Cleveland Orchestra\, Seattle Symphony\, Baltimore Symphony\, Utah Symphony\, Indianapolis Symphony\, Naples Philharmonic and Philly Pops\, among many others. \nJenkins starred as “Medda” in the hit Disney production of Newsies on Broadway. She made her Broadway debut in The Civil War\, where she created the role of Harriet Jackson. She then starred in the Off-Broadway 2000 revival of Godspell\, where she wowed audiences with her stirring rendition of “Turn Back\, O Man\,” which can still be heard on the original cast recording. She returned to Broadway in The Look of Love and was critically acclaimed for her performances of the Bacharach/David hits. Jenkins then created the roles of “The Washing Machine” in Caroline\, Or Change and “Frieda May” in Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me where she sang “Stop the Show” and brought the house down every night. In 2007 she went back to Off-Broadway and starred in (mis) Understanding Mammy: The Hattie McDaniel Story for which she was nominated for a Drama Desk Award. She was also seen in Nora Ephron’s Love\, Loss\, and What I Wore. \nAn active concert artist\, Jenkins has appeared with numerous orchestras around the world including the Cleveland Orchestra\, Houston Symphony\, Chicago Symphony\, Pittsburgh Symphony (with Marvin Hamlisch)\, National Symphony\, Cincinnati Pops (with John Morris Russell)\, Philly Pops\, San Francisco Symphony\, San Diego Symphony\, the Hong Kong Philharmonic and many others. In October 2025\, Jenkins traveled to Bratislava to perform at the Concert Hall of the Slovak Philharmonic. Durham Jorden also performed internationally as a featured soloist for the Ballet West Academy in Berlin\, Germany (2018) and as a performer in the BYU China Spectacular tour (2019). Durham Jorden performs frequently and can be seen in the Billings Symphony\, the Candlelight concert series\, and as one of the founding members of the Aspen Grove Trio\, which won the MTNA National Chamber Music Competition in 2024. Renowned for her tireless advocacy for women composers\, Johnson brings the harp’s delicate resonance into the warmth of a home environment. This unique opportunity to witness the greatness of a true orchestral legend firsthand is not to be missed. \nElisabeth Remy Johnson\, harp \nmeet the musician\n\n\n\n \n\n Elisabeth Remy Johnson\n \n\n Harp \n \n \n \n \n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n Elisabeth Remy Johnson \n\n Harp\n \n \n\n\n Elisabeth Remy Johnson has been principal harpist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) since 1995; with the ASO\, she has performed harp concertos by Debussy\, Ginastera\, Handel\, Higdon and Mozart. Her recent solo album\, Quest\, received international acclaim\, with Gramophone calling it “an exquisite demonstration of the harpist’s art laid out in virtuoso swirls of colour\, pearls of elegant nuance and audiophile sound.” She performs as principal harpist with the Grand Teton Music Festival\, has been guest principal harpist with the orchestras of Baltimore\, Boston\, Houston and Milwaukee\, and teaches at Emory University. Johnson is a graduate of Harvard University\, Phi Beta Kappa\, where she majored in Music and French. \nIn 2018\, she founded The Merian Ensemble\, a group dedicated to performing and commissioning chamber music composed by women. Their debut album\, The Book of Spells\, was noted for its “exceptional chamber performances” and “compelling musicianship” (Textura) and EarRelevant called it “one exciting project\, gorgeously prepared\, played\, and recorded.” \nAs co-founder and artistic director (2000-2010) of Atlanta’s Urban Youth Harp Ensemble\, she received Atlanta’s Channel Eleven Community Service Award\, the TBS Pathfinder’s Award and the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “Up & Comers Award.” She was a 2022 awardee of New Music USA’s Creator Development Fund. \n\n \n\n\n\nThank you to our hosts for this Teton House Concert\, Charles & Michele Goodman. \nThese one-of-a-kind social and musical experiences include a cocktail hour\, performance and time to mingle with world-class musicians.
