Winners in 4th Runnicles Competition named – Jackson Hole News & Guide

Two pianists, harpist split $50K in scholarships after July 19 finals in fourth annual contest.

Three young classical musicians got a major boost to their educations and maybe their careers last Monday when judges named the winners of the fourth annual Donald Runnicles Musical Arts Scholarship Competition.

Tanner Jorden, a pianist who graduated from Billings Senior High School in Montana, won a $25,000 scholarship for first prize; pianist Tim McKay, from Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho, took the $15,000 second-place prize; and Laramie High School harpist Clara Cox took third, for which she received a $10,000 scholarship.
