I was born in San Francisco as was my father and his mother who experienced the big Quake there. I spent my childhood between the San Francisco Bay Area and a cattle ranch my grandmother owned in Central Oregon.

I always say it was my ranch experiences that made me who I am…..a lover of the outdoors, animals and dont mind getting dirty pursuing any activities. My education ended with a graduate degree in clinical social work from University of California at Berkeley. My work years ended with a job in a psychiatric hospital in Virginia. Raising our family in Palo Alto, our family used to take full advantage of the beautiful Sierras. Backpacking, hiking, skiing (which I never learned to do) and other water activities.

My husband and I raised 5 delightful children who have settled in various Western locations. Have lived in Palo Alto, CA, Richmond, VA, Sedona, AZ, and Jackson where I have been for over 20 yrs. Most recently I purchased a condo overlooking the pacific in Carlsbad, CA, to break up my Jackson time and to have a mild weather, low altitude abode for the future.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, I’m a true midwesterner at heart and love the outdoors.

My Mother was tasked with raising four children under the age of ten, so she immersed us in sports, the arts and part-time jobs, likely to keep us out of trouble! I grew up playing the marimba and piano, as well as competitive tennis, field hockey and paddle tennis. Secretly, I’ve always wanted to play the accordion (Pennsylvania Polka)!

Graduating from Duke and a few years later from UCLA (MBA), I embarked on a thirty-plus year career. Working at wonderful companies in diverse roles — Dow Chemical (sales) based in LA; Bankers Trust (corporate finance); The Walt Disney Company (business development); and the last twenty years, AllianceBernstein based in NYC, Chicago and San Francisco. Here, I started in sales & marketing and subsequently became global head of business development & strategy for growth investments.

My husband, Chris Beda, and I always enjoyed skiing, however, it was when we moved to San Francisco in 2004 (from Chicago) that we began to ski regularly, primarily in Lake Tahoe and Utah. We came to Jackson in January 2018 for the ski season and enjoyed the area so much that the rest is history… we stayed for the summer and became residents.

I’m an avid runner, bridge player and enjoy (and value) the many facets of Jackson. While relatively new to the community, Chris and I seek to support Jackson’s vibrancy and protect its legacy. I appreciate the opportunity to join the GTMF Auxiliary Board and look forward to contributing to their efforts.

By heritage, birth (Boston, MA, upbringing (Wellesley, MA) and education (Connecticut College, BA History), I am a New Englander. I spent nearly three decades living abroad;  Japan, and as a US State Department spouse with postings in the former Soviet Union (Ukraine and Russia),  Yugoslavia (now Serbia), Switzerland and Sweden. I worked in Embassies and International Schools.  Returning to the USA, I received a MAT from Trinity College, Washington, DC. I was a special educator. I am the mother of two sons and three step-sons. We have six grandchildren. I have lived in the West since 2000 and was a full-time resident of Jackson Hole with my Wyoming born husband, Bruce Morley. In October 2022, we moved to Bend, Oregon.

The Morleys have a strong history in the valley; my father-in-law, Alex Morley, was co-founder of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.  Alex was part of a group with Baroness Consuelo von Gontard who envisioned a summer music festival for Jackson Hole. Alex was instrumental in the JH Ski Corporation donating the land on which Walk Hall now sits.

My husband has attended the festival concerts since the beginning when they were held in the old Jackson-Wilson HS gym. I have been a member of the GTMF Auxiliary since 2012, serving as Membership Chair for four  years and President for two. Music has always been a big part of my life and over the years, I have sung in various choirs or chorales. I am a big outdoor gal –  tennis, skiing and hiking.

Reade Whiting Dornan

Dornan

I was born Reade Whiting Day in Denver one year to the day before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Since my father was an Air Force pilot, he was immediately activated to fly bombers against the Fascists in Germany and Italy. We later went to live in Germany while Daddy flew the Berlin Airlift transporting supplies to Germans that were trapped by Stalin in West Berlin.  So, I grew up in the military and moved around. One posting was in Shanghai, China, where we lived in a hotel for two years. While Daddy was away fighting wars, we stayed with my mother’s old southern family in Hampton, Virginia. If someone asks where I grew up, I always say “Virginia,” even though passport ink was already in my blood.

For my first “year abroad,” I left Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Virginia for a junior year at the University of Colorado. It was not overseas, but it was a great idea because that’s where I met David Dornan in a philosophy class. I never returned to Randolph-Macon because I took a second “year abroad” at the University of Vienna. There I learned to love opera. We graduated from Colorado and went to grad school during the Vietnam War with all the protesters at Cal-Berkeley. I eventually earned my doctorate at Michigan State. But first we spent our loveliest, youngest years in Moose. Oh yes, I married David Dornan and two little girls came along—Wythe and Ellen. They were both born at St. John’s and attended school in Kelly.

While we were in East Lansing, Michigan, David served as a public health official for Maternal and Child Health, at first for the University of Michigan and later for the State of Michigan. I also taught for the U of Michigan and for Purdue and Central Michigan. Most of the time, I was in the English Department at Michigan State. I taught, wrote books and articles, gave papers at conferences, and served on academic boards. But I never forgot my love of travel from my childhood years, so I learned more languages and watched for opportunities to teach abroad. I taught two years at an ex-pat school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and two years at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, with the Fulbright Program. I also taught a year at the University of Can Tho, Vietnam, and ran summer workshops at several Chinese universities. David and I finished our professional years teaching on a university ship with Semester at Sea and sailing around the Atlantic. It was my fourth ocean crossing on a ship.

Here we are again and retired. We’re back in Jackson Hole and reliving some of the good times of our early days. One of our loves has always been the Music Festival. I remember the 1960s watermelon concerts in the Jackson High School gym. Pretty hokey. The musicians in their Levi’s and red bandanas were dressed like cowboys. Signs around the room read “Please don’t spit seeds on the floor.” Amid the fun, the music was always first class no matter the program. Throughout all those summers of our coming and going to the valley, GTMF connects those memories. It has been the one constant. We’re grateful it’s always been there for us and you.

I was born in Maui, Hawaii, but grew up after 6 in Paradise, California, and Yakima, Washington. I graduated from Whitman College and have Masters Degrees from both UCLA and USC. I met my husband Dick while working as a waitress every summer in Yellowstone, as did my mother in the 1920s. While we both taught high school in Ventura, California, for 25 years, we traveled and spent 12 summers in a tiny 14 foot trailer in Yellowstone, while Dick was a ranger. Our two kids feel like they were brought up in the Yellowstone back country. We bought property in Jackson in the 70s to someday build a cabin.

As my husband neared retirement, I made a career change and went back to school at nights to be a psychotherapist. After working in California in family therapy private practice for over 10 years, I began specializing in using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma just as it was created, training directly for a while with the woman who founded it. We moved to Jackson in 1997 and I spent nearly 20 years in Jackson, loving my private practice clients and trauma challenges here and loving our outdoor recreation.

As Dicks Alzheimers has progressed over 15 years I have increased caretaking, and in 2018 we added a winter home in Green Valley near Tucson. There I have begun making friends and even learning to enjoy the desert and its sunsets, as well as the local history and culture.

Born and bred in Brooklyn, and thus the NY state of mind, I’ve now spent more than half my life in Chicago. But Jackson, where my husband, John Roberts, and I spend 5-6 months each year, has truly become our second home. We’ve made such wonderful friends here – something that I never thought would happen at this point in our lives. Professionally, I have a PhD in medical genetics and I taught and did research at the medical schools of Mount Sinai in New York, Northwestern University in Chicago and Wayne State University in Detroit. While doing research at Wayne State, I went to law school and – seemingly all of a sudden – I moved from lab to law firm. I then spent 30 years at Sidley Austin in Chicago, where my practice focused on the representation of nonprofit organizations in the health care area. After “retiring,” I became, and remain, General Counsel to the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics, the ACMG Foundation for Genetic and Genomic Medicine, and the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics. I serve on a number of nonprofit boards, currently including the Planned Parenthood of Illinois, the Off Square Theater Company and, with thanks to you guys, the Grand Teton Music Festival.

I’ve been married to John, a lawyer and former Dean of the DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, since 1985 and, between us, we have three children, all of whom are lawyers, and a growing number of grandchildren scattered across the country. The photo above was taken in Maui, where we celebrated John’s 80th birthday with all the kids and grandkids, returning to Chicago on March 9, 2020!

I was born and raised on the North Shore of Long Island; however, after graduating from college with a BA in History, I then lived in New York City completing a Masters Degree in Elementary Education and began teaching in the New York City Public School System, until I moved to Houston, Texas.

In Houston, I owned a women’s wear boutique and then after a few years became a Realtor where my career spanned 24 years as a top producer. In Houston, I have served on the board of The Women’s Institute of Houston, I am active at the Ambassador level of the Houston Ballet and on the Ambassador committee; as well as a member of Houston Symphony Guild, The River Oaks Rose Club and a member of the Barbara Bush Literary Foundation of Houston.

In 2010, my husband George and I with our son came to Jackson to ski and fell in love with the mountain, the town and it’s culture. We bought land and built a home. I tell everyone that I have the best of both worlds, Jackson Hole and Houston.

My biggest success is bringing up five wonderful and successful children that are now thriving adults with families of their own.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, home of the Steelers. Yes, I am a football fan.

Graduated from nursing school with my R.N. (registered nurse). Then on to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for my anesthesia training where I received my C.R.N.A (certified registered nurse anesthetist).

During this time I met and married (48 years) the love of my life David Goldfarb a cardiovascular, thoracic surgeon. A call to my husband for a position in the West took us to Phoenix, AZ, where we raised our two daughters. They are now both married and each gave us two grandchildren.

While in Arizona, I attended Arizona State University for eight years part-time and graduated with a B.S. from College of St. Francis.

We traveled to Jackson Hole, WY, while our children were at away camp and fell in love with the environment, furor of activities, mountains and life style. We built a small home on the West Bank and continue to be a part of the community.

We quickly became season ticket holders of the GTMF and have so enjoyed each season since.

I have been a part of several organizations in Jackson and served on the GTMFA Board in each of the positions including President. Also served on the Board of Directors of the Festival for six years.

Hiking, biking, skiing and walking are activities I enjoy and I am happy that Jackson Hole has become my home.

I was born in Plainfield, New Jersey and grew up there from 1950-1975, through part of my adult life. I was blessed with amazing parents and have twin brothers four years older than I. I met my husband, Charlie, in 1973 while he was working in New Jersey for IBM. We married in 1975 and started our 47 year adventure. We have two wonderful children, Katherine (43) who lives next door to me with her husband Andy and my two darling grandchildren. Drue is a delightful little 8 year old and her sister Paige is 3 and a half. They keep us busy with their activities and what a blessing to live so close and be able to watch them grow up here in Jackson. My son, Brian(42), lives in Sausalito but is here more often than in CA. We started coming here in 2002 when Brian came here after college graduation. After 6 moves with IBM and Charlie’s retirement, we decided to leave our coastal living in CT and move permanently to Jackson to be close to family. Although Charlie, an ocean sailboat racer and myself oriented more to East coast living, we have never looked back and everyday pinch ourselves, waking up to our new life here in Jackson Hole, since 2016.

I have a degree in education and taught for 8 years before I transitioned to my current career of 35 years in Interior Design. I have continued to be active in my design work in Jackson and surrounding local areas. I have been an active volunteer within a variety of organizations, such as early years of PTA president in my childrens public schools wherever we lived, Deaconess and various other board responsibilities in all the churches where we lived, and hospital related boards, engaging in numerous fund raising activities.    I am a member of an international philanthropic organization called PEO, founded in 1869, which supports womens education through scholarships in all areas of the US and owns Cottey College in Missouri. Faith, family, friends, and an appreciation of nature and the arts are top on my list of life priorities.

When asked to join the GTMF Auxiliary, I was honored to become a part of such a diverse, talented and esteemed group of women. Charlie and I were regular attendees of the NYC Ballet at Lincoln Center and continue to enjoy the arts at the highest professional level which we have witnessed here. I look forward to my continued involvement with the GTMF Auxiliary.

I am a birder and a tree-hugger who, along with my husband Ralph, came of age in California in the 1970s. Armed with a B.S. in Journalism from West Virginia University, I worked as a writer/editor in Boston, Chicago, and Palo Alto. When I was 27 I climbed to the top of Mt. Whitney (14,505 ft.) in the Sierra Nevada. I made friends with all the shorebirds in Palo Alto’s Baylands and Upper Newport Bay.

My three children were born in Laguna Beach, California. As they grew up, I became a soccer mom, a homeroom mom, a Girl Scout leader, a Pony Club mom. The children completed their educations in Colorado, where I bagged a few more peaks. Besides school and political volunteering I enjoyed hiking, bicycling, and cross-country skiing and co-chaired the local book club. In 2004 Ralph and I moved from Denver to Jackson Hole. We spent 14 idyllic winters in Honolulu.

I have always tried to be a good citizen, having served as an election judge in three states. I have been on the board of Teton Science Schools and on the campaign committee for Teton Raptor Center. I joined the GTMF Auxiliary in 2010.

As a child in rural West Virginia I climbed trees, dreamed of horses, and took piano lessons. For my final recital in ninth grade, I played a Chopin waltz. My love of classical music has grown from there, although I still listen mostly to Chopin as I do my morning yoga.

I was born in Staunton in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. After graduating from Mount Holyoke College, I attended the University of Virginia School of Architecture and received a Masters of City & Regional Planning. My career as a city planner included jobs in Fairfax County and then Arlington, Virginia; in Atlanta with the rapid transit authority; and then, after a move west, in Alameda and Lafayette, California.

Subsequently I switched careers, attending law school at the Univ. of California Hastings in San Francisco. My first job as a lawyer was a real estate practice with a large law firm in Salt Lake City, where I moved to marry Marv Heileson, a business and financial transactions attorney.

After several years in Salt Lake we returned to California, this time to Los Angeles, where I practiced land use and zoning law for the City of Pasadena, followed by a stint doing real estate transactions with a small Century City firm. Notwithstanding two careers, however, the most intellectually satisfying time I ever spent was two and a half years in London, where, not having a green card, I was unemployed for two and a half years, and spent my time taking classes in French, Art History and English History, touring the lovely countryside and visiting stately homes.

Marv was born in Rexburg, and has always loved Jackson; he grew up camping and fly fishing in the area, and his maternal great-grandfather was a pioneer in Star Valley and his grandfather was born in Freedom before Wyoming was a state. We moved here in 2006, as his four children were within a days drive. Now only one of them is, but we stayed anyway, for the fly fishing for Marv, the beautiful natural environment and wildlife for both of us, and of course, the glorious music of the Grand Teton Music Festival.

Of our many joys living in Jackson Hole, our family, friends, the incomparable nature, and GTMF are the stars. After visiting the Valley in summer for years when our daughters Amy and Katherine were growing up, we moved here in 2002. Amy and family live here; Katherine is a pediatric hospitalist at the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Husband Chuck has worked hard on Democratic politics and reads and writes about science that touches us all. My main local job” has been serving 12 years on the Board of St Johns Health. Weve come to love GTMF for its peerless music and the dear friends weve made. Its opened a whole world for us.

Professionally, Im an economist — worked on global education, especially for girls, and health care. Years ago I led USAIDs division for policy in education, health, and population. In 1981-99, I worked at the World Bank, loved having colleagues from every corner of the world. Felt extremely lucky to launch our Women in Development division. After the Bank I served as senior adviser for social sectors to Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers. In 2004, I coauthored What Works in GirlsEducation with Gene Sperling for the Council on Foreign Relations. Girlseducation is doable — boosts productivity and brings smaller, healthier, better-educated families as girls gain voice and choice. Now I paint, study physics, and serve on boards of organizations addressing health or encouraging girlseducation. I have a BA from Wellesley and a PhD from Yale and am a member of the Council on Foreign Relations — wish we were somehow more engaged in the world. GTMF helps with that!!

Grew up in Syracuse, NY, met Dick in high school, have been married since 1963. Graduated from Mount Holyoke College, majoring in math. Raised our family (3 children) in north suburban Chicago. Bought a condo in the Aspens in 2005, a house in Wilson in 2008 and moved here permanently in 2009.

I had part-time jobs and served on many non-profit Boards of Directors, frequently as Treasurer since I majored in math. I was elected to positions on the Sunset Ridge Elementary and New Trier High School Boards of Education, serving as President of both. Those Boards met at night and when that service was finished, I discovered the theatre scene, Lyric Opera and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra to fill my evenings.

How wonderful to live here with good professional theatre (disclosure – I am on the Board of Off Square Theatre Company), hopefully MetHD operas again in the future, and our spectacular GTMF orchestra. I joined the Auxiliary soon after moving here, was President for two years and subsequently served on the Board of Directors of the Music Festival for 8 years.

Chicago is a sports town and I liken what we have with our wonderful orchestra to what it was like watching Michael Jordan play basketball – we are seeing (and hearing) the absolute best!

I was born and raised in San Francisco near Candlestick Park and the Cow Palace. My father was a San Francisco fireman. My parents enjoyed folk dancing and square dancing, which I also learned in my early teens. I was fortunate to be in San Francisco when it was the center of the 1960’s music scene. I attended performances at the Fillmore Auditorium and Avalon Ballroom almost every weekend with my friends.

I attended San Francisco City College and then worked for the National Labor Relations Board as a legal secretary until my first child was born. My (ex) husband was a San Francisco fireman. We moved to Novato, in Marin County, on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge. I raised two children and have four grandchildren. I worked as a legal secretary and then office manager for a law firm for 17 years before I retired.

I learned to ski at Lake Tahoe at the age of 18, started playing tennis in my 20’s, and played coed soccer for over 20 years. I coached my son’s soccer teams for six years and was the only woman coaching boys’ teams at that time. I have played 406 USTA league tennis matches and went to nationals twice. I am done with soccer, but I enjoy tennis, skiing, hiking, and biking in Jackson Hole.

Steph and I migrated to Jackson Hole after his consulting firm moved here. When we first started dating, he had season tickets to the San Francisco Opera, frequently under the baton of Donald Runnicles. Now, here we are years later, enjoying the music festival with some of the most talented musicians in the country, and that same wonderful conductor.

My parents, Benjamin and Beatrice (Flint) Brewster were New Englanders, and I was born in Boston. But, when I was three, my father took a job in Michigan and our family moved from Dedham to Bloomfield Hills.

Throughout my childhood, our family always returned to Massachusetts for summer vacations and to visit relatives and friends. When my sister and I were teenagers, the family began summering at Westport Point, a small pre-revolutionary whaling port on the southwest Massachusetts coast.  We still have a cottage there that we visit a couple of times each year.

After graduation from Kingwood School Cranbrook, I enrolled at the University of Michigan, where I joined a sorority (KKG). My 1956 Bachelor of Arts degree was in history, with a concentration of courses in music history.

After college I took a job in Boston, but about a year later I married Dick (Richard A. Jones), whom I had met my junior year in Ann Arbor. He had completed law school the same year as my commencement and entered the Air Force as a judge advocate soon after our marriage.

Dick’s Air Force service took us first to a base in Washington state, and then to Aviano Air Base in Northern Italy. We loved our nearly two years of life in Italy, where the first of our three children was born; and we have returned as tourists about a dozen times.

After Dick’s Air Force service was completed, he joined a Michigan law firm and we returned to live in Bloomfield Hills. We bought a home with 2+ acres near my family’s home and raised our three children there. I kept busy in my spare time, designing and tending gardens and serving as a docent at the Detroit Institute of Arts. For many summers we sailed our cruising sloop in the waters off Massachusetts and Maine. Winters always included a ski trip or two.

When Dick retired, we built our home near Wilson. We have enjoyed skiing, hiking, pack trips and making new friends. I have served as a docent at the Wildlife Art Museum. We have enjoyed attending every Music Festival since our arrival in the valley.

I predominantly grew up on Philadelphia’s Main Line while summering in Stone Harbor, NJ. I met my husband, Darrell, from Anchorage, AK at Lehigh University where we both matriculated.

We married in Bryn Mawr, PA, and I began my career as a CPA at Deloitte and Touche in Philadelphia, later transferring to the DC office. I then became a Regional Controller for Comcast Cablevision in Philadelphia followed by a time as Corporate Controller at Simmons Communications in Stamford, CT. I then took time off from the recognized working world to raise our two sons, coach various sports teams, become treasurer of many clubs and a church volunteer. I returned to the workforce as a Financial Reporting Specialist at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA. I then decided to relocate to Newfoundland, Canada for one of my husband’s 16 career relocations, and ultimately, we moved full time to Wilson, mostly for the skiing.

I enjoy most genres of music. I played piano as both a youth and a young adult. I love listening to masters of the art and have high appreciation for the many hours of practice and rehearsals going into each performance. As a volunteer for many organizations, I also have high appreciation for all the detailed work making each performance excellent and appear seamless. I am looking forward to being part of this effort to ensure the GTMF operates smoothly!

Mine is a story that is very familiar to us all….one visit to Jackson Hole and you are smitten with the valley! My first time to come here was May 1979. My husband and I couldn’t leave without establishing a place for ourselves. We bought a small piece of land on that first visit and set about building a vacation home.

My “other” life was in Austin, Texas. I earned a Master of Science in Education degree from the University of Texas. For twenty-eight years I worked in wildlife rehabilitation. I had federal permits to care for injured and orphaned birds—everything from hummingbirds to Great Horned Owls. I also did programs on North American birds of prey for school children using live birds.

Another great love of mine is landscape and wildlife photography. The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem has been a superb place to pursue that interest!

Being a part time resident of Jackson continued through the years until my husband died in 2005. I then started making Wyoming my permanent home. I still live in the little house my husband and I built forty years ago.

I have two children who reside in North Carolina. I have grandchildren and three great grandchildren. When I’m not in Wyoming, I travel to a rural area near my family just outside Charlotte, NC.

Throughout the years, I have enjoyed Grand Teton Music Festival concerts. I enjoyed the orchestra under the direction of Ling Tung and Eiji Oue. One of my earliest memories was the year that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir performed with our symphony orchestra. (Remember that?) Now, the Grand Teton Music Festival is the highlight of my summers!!!

Ive been a part-time resident of the valley for 30 years and have been involved in several NGOs in that time. Im currently a board member of the Conservatiion Alliance, and the TPL Northern Rockies Advisory Board. I have served on the GYC and WOC boards in the past. Im involved with the Northern Rockies Conservation Collaborative and an enthusiastic member of the Global Business Roundtable Community and the Thursday Womens Roundtable. Im a new member of the GTMF Auxiliary Executive Committee as Vice President and look forward to getting to know more members of the group.

My interest in music is life-long and Ive been a passionate attender of the GTMF since arriving here in the 90s. I agree with the Maestro that this ensemble is inspiring and addictive. Im so glad to be able to support this amazing orchestra and the GTMF Auxiliary.

I have lived in Wyoming as a year-round resident since 2017. Spanning the country, I was born in Los Angeles, raised in Minnesota, and spent 39 years in New England before I moved to Jackson.

I graduated from the University of Minnesota. I first skied in Jackson in 1972 and hoped to move here the following year but a ski accident derailed that plan. So, I moved to Boston in 1978 for an opportunity in the advertising field. I married Paul Martini in 1986 and had two boys. New England was then “home” for a long time. Once I had kids, I swapped back and forth between working and long stretches as a full-time mom, which was wonderful. Early in my career, I worked for two growing companies and quickly found myself traveling the globe to help open offices and support their expansion. It was a remarkable opportunity, and I enjoyed the demands and the crazy pace. Later, my husband lured me into a marketing and business development role in construction where I spent the last 15 years. I am retired now but work a few hours a week consulting on my sons’ business, which is low stress and highly entertaining.

Our family home was in Winchester, MA, and we had a weekend home in Franconia, NH, where our sons learned to ski on what is famously known as the coldest, windiest, iciest mountain in the East. (We loved it!) We made an annual trip to Jackson to ski, and now our oldest son lives here and recently bought a home in Red Top. Our youngest son lives in Los Angeles and visits Jackson as often as we’ll let him.

My volunteer work and nonprofit activity generally revolved around fundraising and hosting events: Archdiocesan Youth Scholarship, Franconia Ski Club, Charlie Baker, Governor of Massachusetts, our local Winchester hospital, and the American Red Cross. I put a tremendous amount of energy into those efforts, but it felt really good to hand the reins over to younger up & comers!

Life in Jackson has exceeded my expectations. Like many, we visited for 35 years before making the move, and we haven’t looked back. We dove into the outdoor lifestyle with enthusiasm and love hiking, biking, golf, kayaking, and all forms of skiing. But among my many interests, the Grand Teton Music Festival has been a highlight. When we moved here full time, I was dazzled by how exceptional and unique the Festival is, and also how accessible. A pleasant contrast to Boston. I’m honored to be a member of the Auxiliary and currently serve as secretary.

Dale and her husband, Jim, have been coming with their family to the Jackson Hole valley since their sons were small. They transitioned to putting down ski roots in Jackson about 15 years ago and decided to make the move more permanent in 2018. They were drawn here for several factors, including skiing and the love of the mountains, but most importantly, the community here.

Dale’s background and training is as an accountant. She was a CPA for her professional career. Since retiring early, she describes herself as a serial volunteer. Dale stepped down recently as Treasurer, Executive Board member and chair of the Finance Committee for The Garden Club of America. She is currently on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the boy’s school their sons attended in Cleveland and is a new Board member of the Jackson Hole Wildlife Foundation. Dale volunteers with Friends of Pathways, as well as Grand Teton National Park as a weekly bike ambassador.

Originally from Alabama, Dale moved to New York after college and then to Cleveland, OH after marrying her husband, Jim, where they raised their sons. Cleveland has a deep commitment to, and array of, arts and culture with The Cleveland Orchestra as one of the pillars. For their years in Cleveland, Dale was a subscriber for Thursday evening concerts. The Cleveland Orchestra is a special organization and has spent considerable time, energy and resources into expanding their outreach and presence in underserved parts of the greater Cleveland community.

In the warmer weather, Dale hikes whenever she can, fishes, bikes, plays pickleball & golf and loves to entertain with her husband.

I grew up in the New York suburbs.  Then went North to college and after graduation, returned to the Big Apple, planning to head for San Francisco asap.

But the city caught me and I loved it all.  New York was beguiling, back when you didnt need a career.  I worked for magazines (House Beautiful and Interior Design), raised money for John Lindsays mayoral campaign, went to Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette on Wall Street, assisted in a furniture designers (Karl Springer) crazy showroom.  By then I had married a college boyfriends best friend and moved to Connecticut where we raised son Andy and daughter Katy.

When Katy was six and could ride a horse, we came to RLazyS Ranch one summer.  We discovered Teton Valley Ranch Camp though a lovely server at the Ranch.  For the next eighteen summers, Andy or Katy was at the camp.  After years of visiting Jackson to pick up or drop off a camper, we bought a house in the Pines.  Dick moved his office to Jackson, and here we stay.  With ties in Connecticut and California, Jackson Hole remains our base and the Grand Teton Music Festival continues to be one of the valleys major charms.

I was born in Philadelphia, went to Pennsylvania State University for a degree in History, and spent summers working in Wildwood, NJ. I moved to Washington, DC, to pursue a Masters in History at George Washington University and stayed in the DC area until I moved to Jackson Hole.

I met my husband, John Martin, in DC. John grew up in Riverton, went to UW, and introduced me to the wonders of Wyoming. We raised our 3 children in DC and Maryland, but our goal was always to move back to Wyoming. We finished building our home on Snow King Drive in 2008 and spent as much time in JH as we could with work and three kids’ activities. We happily moved here full time in 2015 when our youngest graduated high school.

While at GWU, I was very lucky to begin my career as an Archivist. I started with the National Archives, did a few years as the archivist at Notre Dame University and The Brookings Institution, and eventually made my way back to the National Archives. While at the National Archives I managed the largest archival facility design and construction project in the world, NARA’s Archives II in College Park, Maryland. During this 11 year project I was able to work with colleagues from all over the world and lead an effort to set standards for the preservation of collections and their facilities. I left the National Archives in 2000 to form my own consulting business in archives and museum facilities, and I am still enjoying the challenges of designing facilities to preserve and make accessible our country’s irreplaceable treasures.

Our children give us reason to travel and to keep enough bedrooms in JH to house them as they love to visit. Our oldest Laura and her husband PJ settled in Neenah, Wisconsin, with our two grandchildren, Oliver and Mason. Travis and Hallie are both living in New York City. Our two dogs, Abby and Milo, keep us outdoors.

I am delighted that my JH tennis friends invited me to join the Auxiliary and that I can support our wonderful GTMF orchestra.

Becoming full time residents of Jackson Hole was a happy accident for the Pasfield family. We bought our vacation home in 2010 and like so many, we came for the skiing and fell in love with the summers…. So here we are in Wilson.

While my accent has faded, I was born and raised in Sayville, New York, a beautiful town on the south shore of eastern Long Island. I graduated from Lynchburg College in Virginia with a B.A. in Early Childhood Education. Bruce and I married and moved to Clearwater, Florida, where I began my career as an elementary school teacher.  I completed my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership at the University of South Florida, and transitioned to school administration. In 1990, we moved to Alexandria Virginia, where we raised our 2 children (Wesley and Chelsea) and lived for the next 29 years. Working in the Alexandria City Public Schools, I wore many hats as teacher, school administrator, and concluded my career focusing on teacher evaluation and development. After retiring from ACPS, I worked as a professor at George Washington University, supporting student teachers in their elementary school placements in the D.C. public schools.

While in Alexandria, I served on several preschool boards, started a student led non profit called LemonAide, and served many years on the board of The Center For Alexandria’s Children. Both of our children were 3 season athletes, so a great deal of my ‘spare time’ was on a bleacher cheering on and supporting a sports team of some sort. Now in Jackson, Bruce and I have embraced our new community. I played the violin from 4th grade through high school, so the music festival was a natural draw for me, and I was moved to tears the first time I attended. I have enjoyed learning the role as volunteer coordinator and working with the Auxiliary to support GTMF. I also usher for the festival. I am an officer and active member of Soroptimist ‘s of JH, an organization of women that supports women and children in our community. I am the Precinct Committeewoman for my voting district and I am active in the Teton County GOP. My husband Bruce and I support the Jackson Hole Wildlife Foundation where he serves as Board President.  In addition, Bruce is an assistant coach for the Jackson Hole High School football team, so in the fall we travel around the state of Wyoming, and once again I return to the bleachers to cheer on the JH Broncs.  Between golf, skiing, pickleball, hiking, and our volunteer work…. Retirement is exhausting.

Our children have always been my greatest joy and now I am a Grancy! Our son Wesley and his wife Addi live in Denver and had a beautiful baby girl in March of 2021. June Elise is a blessing that was joined by grandson Travis Jon born in August of 2021 to our daughter Chelsea and her husband Chris of Nashville.

Retirement just got even better.

Turned 80 last summer with no party. Grew up in Minnesota, went East to Smith College, joined the Peace Corps and lived in Nigeria for two years. Went to Harvard for Master of Arts in teaching and never taught. Married Toby 53 years ago and moved to NYC where I worked in various education-related areas.

Raised three children in Connecticut who now all live out West. I got bored at age 49 and went to law school. Practiced for 15 years in CT as a public defender in child protection. Meanwhile, we bought a place in Teton Village in 2000 before either of us had retired. I couldnt waive into the bar here but found a better interest: Teton Youth and Family Services (TYFS), a crucial local non-profit, where I have served on the Board for many years.

Also a long time member of the GTMF Auxiliary and was president of this esteemed group for two years. We love the music and cant believe that it is in our own back yard!

I was born in Minnesota and grew up on the shores of beautiful Lake Minnetonka. With a degree in Physical Education from the University of Minnesota, I was headed for a teaching career when I became an Army wife by marrying Craig in 1969. We moved a lot over 30 Army years including four trips over and back to Germany (Bamberg, Nürnberg, Würzburg, and Heidelberg).

Our son, Dan, lives in S. California and has 2 boys. Our daughter, Amanda, lives in Hamburg, Germany, and also has 2 boys. Moving so often made it difficult to do much teaching, but I volunteered and substituted in the schools my kids attended.

We bought a condo in Jackson in 1978 and visited as much as we could to ski, hike, and climb.  After Craig retired in 1999 we settled in Jackson for the year-round fun.

Craig and I have been ushering for the GTMF for 23 years and I joined the Auxiliary in 2001. Over the years I have held almost every officer position including secretary, vice-president, and president.

Our love of music began in our first posting to Germany where we attended the Bamberg Symphony, made up of many Czechoslovakian refugees from WWII.  While Craig was attending Law School in Salt Lake City, Utah, we attended the Utah Symphony (under Abravanel). They played in the Tabernacle where student seats were $1! Later we attended the very formal Nürnberg Symphony and still later we enjoyed the operas in Würzburg, Germany. Nothing, however, compares to our Grand Teton Music Festival!

I grew up on the Philadelphia Main Line, where I met my husband, Barry Sibson, in high school. After attending college in New York, Barry and I married in 1961 and, soon after, drove across country to California for him to attend graduate school at Stanford.

After four years and the birth of our two children in Palo Alto, CA, we returned to Philadelphia where Barry went to work for an international construction company. But the west coast was calling us and four years later Barry was able to transfer to the newly established Los Angeles office of his company. We lived and raised our children in Arcadia, a suburb of Los Angeles, for almost thirty years. While there, I was involved in many volunteer activities, serving as a Girl Scout leader, soccer coach, PTA President and President of the League of Women Voters. I went back to school, earned my law degree and practiced Family and Business Law in Los Angeles. We loved the Sierras and spent many summers camping, hiking and fishing (until a bear stole our food and our kids refused to go backpacking again). We also enjoyed playing tennis and golf and spent winter weekends at our second home in Palm Desert.

Upon retirement we set out to find the perfect mountain spot to spend our summers fishing and playing golf and tennis. After trips to Oregon and Montana and an RV trip throughout the mountain west, we knew we had found our home once we arrived in Jackson. We sold our house in Los Angeles, bought a cabin on a pond in South Park and joined Teton Pines. Beyond the great fishing, golf and tennis, we’ve enjoyed many other activities in and around Jackson including hiking, cross country skiing, art and music. Playing tennis with Carol Schwender led me and so many others to get involved in the Music Festival Auxiliary. I have loved being part of this wonderful group of people dedicated to supporting a most important part of Jackson, the MUSIC FESTIVAL.

In ‘98, with our three boys in arms,
We set our rights on Jackson’s charms.
Like countless others, we fell under its spell,
And so begins a story to tell.

We built a second home in Wilson’s embrace,
Winter and summer breaks, this became our place.
Twenty-two years later, work and kids now aside,
As full-time residents, in Wilson we reside.

Born and raised in Chicago’s bustling throng,
Banking was where my career once belonged.
I moved to New York when opportunity arose,
Managing an Investment Partnership the work I chose.

Married to Greg, our family grew strong,
Three sons arrived, and life’s path shifted along.
Community called, and I heeded the plea,
An EMT on an ambulance, I decided to be.

Another passion then became my dream,
To create a local farmers market was my scheme.
My family and community became my core,
Until retirement came, and with it thoughts of more.

We came for the beauty, the mountains to hike,
But we each passing year there was more to like.
Volunteer work, community, a purpose that grew,
With Friends of Pathways GTNP and JL Wildlife a few.

The Grand Teton Music Festival, once a vacation’s delight,
Became a highlight of summer each Saturday night.
With open arms, I join this volunteer group,
Looking forward to serving with an amazing troupe.

Born and raised a third-generation Southern Californian, I attended three years of college at San Jose State University, married, and then obtained a BA in English/Speech from UCLA. I had a brief career as a technical writer at Allergan Pharmaceuticals before starting a family and becoming a full-time mom for three children. We moved to Ambler, PA, and lived there for 13 years. During that time, I was treasurer, hospitality chair, and headed several fundraisers for The Jr. Colony Club of Ambler, a philanthropic/social organization for women under 40, focused on women’s issues encouraging individuality while balancing careers and raising families. Volunteered for everything involving the children; and took advantage of continuing education courses at local colleges.

Wes Timmerman, a resident of Jackson Hole since 1972, had been a friend of mine in high school. Both recently divorced, we reconnected after 20 years, soon married, and in 1986, we moved my family to Jackson. I also fell quickly in love with Jackson Hole and new surroundings while tagging  along with my photographer husband. Blending our family of five teenagers was at times “interesting,” but we now so enjoy having our large family with spouses and two grandchildren.

I became an insurance agent at Jackson State Insurance (now Hub International) for almost 25 years. Building client relationships with Jackson’s unique people was the best part of my career; many of them becoming close friends.

Since retirement, I have enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels and Teton County Library, and  participating in activities with JH Bird and Nature Club, Teton Plants, and Geologists of Jackson Hole. I was thrilled to join the GTMF Auxiliary in 2015, and served as membership chair from 2017–2020. My pianist grandmother inspired my love for classical music, encouraging me throughout my piano studies as a child. I tried many times to master Debussy’s “Clair de Lune” (never did), and was sobbing after Yefim Bronfman’s encore performance of the piece at the Festival a few years ago.

During the winter, we do our traveling to visit family and friends, now dispersed all over, and have taken several trips abroad; but summers are spent exclusively in Jackson, outdoors as much as possible. I am now passionate about “my mountains” and so grateful to still be on the trails.

I was born and raised in the beautiful Hudson River Valley in New York State. Growing up in a small town, I always dreamed of traveling and learning about other places, so as soon as I could, I set out on life’s journey.

First stop – New York City, where I found my first job. Next stop – California, where I attended UCLA with a focus in business while working. And, finally, settling down to work and raise a family in Jackson Hole.

I began my professional career in the pharmaceutical department of Bristol Myers Squibb in New York City. I subsequently moved on to managing the office for the US subsidiary of a major multi-national British firm, The Dixons Group. It was there that I met my future spouse, Gary. When Dixon restructured after a takeover battle in the UK, I moved to Los Angeles, living on the beach and working for a residential real estate development firm.

Eventually, Gary and I decided to get married and move to the mountains. Having spent time in Jackson, we bought a home in 1990 and have lived here full-time for over 30 years. Ironically (and fortuitously), my first job in Jackson Hole was working as the office manager for… The Grand Teton Music Festival! After several years, I joined forces with a partner and co-founded an interior design firm.

25 years later, we are still going strong (my original partner retired and I took on a new partner – Kristin Fay), and Trauner Fay Designs, as it is now known, is my passion.

Gary and I raised two incredible Wyoming-born boys (now young men), Benjamin and Aaron. They are our pride and joy. In my free time, along with my community involvement, I enjoy traveling, biking, yoga, hiking, backcountry x-country skiing; knitting and reading everything I can get my hands on.

I grew up a Jersey girl, between Cherry Hill and summers in Ocean City.

I went to Bethany College in WV for an undergraduate degree in education and Western Maryland University (now McDaniel College) for a graduate degree in deaf education.

After marrying my college sweetheart, Gary, we moved to Columbus, Ohio. I taught the hearing impaired for Columbus Schools for 7 years before retiring to be a full-time mom. Then volunteering became a full-time job—in the classroom, 2 years as school board president in my son’s Catholic school, hospital auxiliary and for the high school sports boosters. My last 15 years in Ohio I worked part-time for Gary’s law firm.

We have two sons, Brett who lives in Jackson and works for Zion Bank and Jeff who lives in Denver and is with Chase Bank.

We have lived in Jackson part-time since 1999 and full-time since 2018. I enjoy tennis, travel, cooking and tutoring at The Teton Literacy Center. I look forward to working with the Auxiliary in all ways to benefit GTMF.

My story of coming to live in Jackson is a familiar one. We came for the skiing twenty years ago and stayed for the summer, after a visit in 2015. We bought a vacation home here in town in 2017 and moved here full time in 2019 (good timing) from Bryn Mawr, Pa.

My husband, Bob, and I have two daughters. Margot, married to Jesse Crane, with son Jasper, born in September, 2021 and Meredith, who was the first of the family to move to Jackson in 2014. Both live and work in Jackson. We feel so lucky and blessed to all be here together.

For education: BA, Boston College in 1974 and MBA Temple University, Fox School of Business in1980.

I retired after 35 years with Dow/Rohm and Haas companies in 2015. I had a varied and exciting career, including 4 overseas assignments, London, Paris, Shanghai and Saudi Arabia. While my background is Finance, for the last 15 years of my career I was an Information Technology Director, managing the maintenance and implementation of the systems supporting global business processes.

We started attending the GTMF Concerts in the first summer we came here and attended a few more each year as we spent more time here in Summer. The GTMF is one of the true Gems of Jackson. I was extremely pleased when Nancy Martini invited me to join the auxiliary. 2020 was my first year.  I enjoyed all my auxiliary assignments and look forward to taking on a few more each year.

I lived my entire life just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Bucks County) (hence my love for Philly soft pretzels and the Philadelphia Eagles!)   I was the youngest of four children, my beautiful sister Ginny, two brothers Larry and Bruce.  Unfortunately, my sister and brother Bruce passed away as did my beautiful mother at the age of 49.  I wound up at a very young age (17) moving out on my home and getting a job at a real estate office.  Luckily, I had a wonderful boss that let me move into an apartment over the real estate office with the understanding that I would have to work hard and at times come in the office on Sundays and type agreements of Sale.  I think all in all this made me a strong person, but it was rather lonely…until I met my husband to be, Bill!  We dated for 5 years and then married in 1980.  We had two beautiful children Lindsay (40) and Taylor (39).  When our family was very young, they fell in love with skiing … Except for me!  We would travel the east coast in the winter for our ski vacations.  Later in life we traveled to a place called Jackson Hole, Wyoming…and realized how much we love this place that we now call home.  We own a family business in Doylestown, PA that our daughter is currently running, and our son Taylor lives in LA and now owns a home in Joshua Tree and is a producer.  (Although he and his girlfriend spend a lot of time in JH.)

I have a very, very strong passion for gardening and I am hoping Bill will add more gardens to our property…my real passion is decorating for the holidays.  I think we have more trees in our home during the holidays than we do in our yard!  Bill and I also love carving Santa’s (Bill does the carving…knives scare me…and I do the painting).  I would love to have all of you over during the holidays to see our decorations, etc.  Thank you all so much for voting me into the auxiliary.
