Dive into classical music with the Grand Teton Music Festival in this new partnership with the Teton County Library!

Cinematic Soundscapes: Whether crafted for the silver screen or the concert hall, music is a powerful way to take us to imaginative new places by giving us a soundtrack. We’ll study Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony to see how a composer put the sounds of nature into his music, then see how golden age film composer Erich Korngold brought the sound of the movies to his violin concerto. Finally, we’ll see how these pieces influenced modern film scores, including John Barry’s music for Out of Africa and Dances with Wolves.

Dive into classical music with the Grand Teton Music Festival! Suitable for interested novices and seasoned fans alike, this adult education group will explore the history, theory and stories behind epic classical works each week. Led by Stoner Family Education Curator Meaghan Heinrich, prepare for the coming weekend’s Festival Orchestra concerts or simply join the discussion in the Classical Music Listening Club.
