Houston Symphony Music Director Juraj Valčuha makes his GTMF debut on a program that features the return of Van Cliburn silver medalist Anna Geniushene. They will collaborate on Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto, a work so melodically rich that Frank Sinatra stole from it. Bartók’s provocative Miraculous Mandarin Suite and a US premiere round out the concert.
