Free FamilyJam with Third Coast Percussion: Think Outside the Drum
Tuesday, July 9 at 6 PM
Walk Festival Hall
Third Coast Percussion’s Think Outside the Drum program is a fun, interactive and educational presentation for all ages. Families will learn about the building blocks of music through active participation — clapping, singing and a listening game. Join us on the Pavilion at 5 PM for snacks and refreshments. GTMF Education Curator Meaghan Heinrich will host a kid-friendly, pre-concert talk at 5:30 PM in the Barbara Furrer Goodman Memorial Garden near Walk Festival Hall’s north entrance.

GTMF On the Road brings live classical music to audiences in Teton County and surrounding communities through free concerts presented in partnership with community organizations in welcoming locations.

Join Education Curator Meaghan Heinrich for fun, informative and engaging music sessions for young children and their adult caretakers. Geared for listeners ages one through five, classes will also be fun and accessible for all ages. Come with us on a musical adventure to sing, dance and move through the exciting world of music!

2024 Donald Runnicles Musical Arts Scholarship Competition
The 7th Annual Donald Runnicles Scholarship Competition is open to graduating high school seniors from Wyoming, Idaho, or Montana who are pursuing a music degree in college. The semi-finals and finals on July 19 & 20, 2024 (2:30 PM at Walk Festival Hall) are free and open to the public.
Applications are now open! Deadline to apply is May 6.

Coombs Outdoors Partnership
Coombs Outdoors and GTMF have partnered to create access to music lessons and opportunities for Coombs Outdoors participants. The two local nonprofits have worked together to launch a summer-long program, the Coombs Ukulele Club, that offers Ukulele lessons to Coombs participants once a week for the duration of the summer, followed by a public performance. The performance will be on Friday, August 9 at 6:30 PM in the Barbara Furrer Goodman Memorial Garden near Walk Festival Hall’s north entrance.

Camp Jackson Music Festival
Teton County/Jackson Parks & Recreation’s Camp Jackson and GTMF have partnered to create access to music lessons and opportunities for Camp Jackson participants. The two local organizations have worked together to launch a week-long program in late June, the Camp Jackson Music Festival, that offers music lessons to Camp Jackson participants throughout the week culminating with a performance on the final day.
Jackson Hole Youth Orchestra Camp
This camp for grades 7-12, intermediate to advanced players, provides participants the opportunity to work with GTMF musicians, along with teachers/musicians from MusicLand/JH Youth Orchestra. Camp includes a field trip to a Festival Orchestra rehearsal at Walk Festival Hall and culminates in a full performance in late August.
The 2024 Camp meets Monday evenings, 7-8:30 PM from June 24-August 19 in the Ensemble Room at Jackson’s Center for the Arts.

StringFest
StringFest unites orchestra students from local schools for an intensive workshop led by an expert clinician. The clinic gives students the opportunity to learn alongside a broader set of peers and concludes with a free concert at Walk Festival Hall showcasing their newly refined skills and talents.
Teton Music School’s Summer Strings Camp
Teton Music School’s Summer Strings Camp for middle school students will be visited by a resident string quartet for a special performance and clinic instruction. Students will be invited to a Chamber Music concert and Open Rehearsal, ending with an afternoon performance at Walk Festival Hall.

Pre-Concert Talks
Before each Festival Orchestra concert, Festival Musicians present educational introductions to the evening’s performance. Learn before you listen, with lectures beginning at 6 PM on Fridays and 5 PM on Saturdays in the Barbara Furrer Goodman Memorial Garden near Walk Festival Hall’s north entrance. Talks are sponsored by the Goodman Family Foundation, in memory of Roy and Barbara Goodman.

Meaghan on Deck
During the break at Open Rehearsals (Fridays at 10 AM, June 28 through August 9, at Walk Festival Hall) join Education Curator Meaghan Heinrich and special guests on the Pavilion for a casual opportunity for attendees to ask questions about what they just heard or what they’re about to hear. Open Rehearsals are ticketed and cost $20 for adults and $5 for children/students.
