Meaghan’s Summer Education & Community Program Preview

Greetings, GTMF Family! Summer is upon us, and I couldn’t be more excited to return to Jackson for my sixth year as Education Curator for the Grand Teton Music Festival. Walk Festival Hall may be under renovation, but our Education and Community programs are more numerous and creative than ever, bringing you plenty of opportunities to engage with great music all over Jackson and Teton Valley. Here are just a few things I’m especially looking forward to this season:

• Three new programs on the porch of the Murie Ranch, including a nighttime percussion concert in collaboration with Teton Science Schools and Wyoming Stargazing
• Following up on the wonderful reception to last year’s Peter and the Wolf concert, a new family-friendly Chamber Music program featuring Kevin Lau’s musical telling of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Nightingale and selections from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons
• Live music with Old West silent films at the Jackson Hole History Museum, featuring GTMF’s Rita Porfiris and Anton Miller
• Our first-ever collaboration with the Teton Valley Chamber Music Festival in downtown Driggs, ID
• Classical Music Listening Club sessions at the Teton County Library to get “behind the music” with fellow orchestra aficionados

…and of course, the return of weekly Musical Adventures early childhood sessions, On the Road concerts all over town, camp partnerships, pre-concert talks and SO much more. See you soon!
